Harvesting Your Intentions

In Florida, it takes a little more effort to notice the change in seasons. We are lucky to have beautiful warm weather mostly year-round. Yet, I find an innate desire to respond to each new season differently, whether by changing the decor in my home, the colors I wear or the food I eat.

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. Physically, it is when we harvest what was planted in the prior months and prepare for the winter months ahead. Spiritually, it is an opportunity to reflect on the intentions set at the beginning of the year and review what has transpired, positive or negative.

As we look toward Thanksgiving, this season is definitely a little different. You may be off balance, feel grief or loss or be inspired. It is a good time to take stock, reset if needed, and then try to avoid dragging baggage you don’t need into next year, which hopefully will be a fresh start for all.

Some questions you can ask yourself:

How do you think you are doing with where you are at this point in the year?

How have you coped or pivoted?

Can you celebrate your successes?

I recently read an article about the autumnal equinox, in which the author said “Consider, as autumn sets in, the areas of your life that need to be let go of, consider what no longer serves you, gets in your way, and needs to wither” (just as many crops wither in the winter season). I have added this thought process to my reflections during this time.

It isn’t always easy to admit (or sometimes even recognize) that a habit, relationship, etc. is no longer in your best interest. And it may not be easy to find the strength to cut the cord to people, thoughts or things that impede your progress.

But just like the seasons, there is an on-going cycle to our soul’s evolution, we just need to pause and take notice to help things along. That is what I am working on now.

One thing I know is that I am grateful for many reasons, including this beautiful time of the year and the continued unfolding of the path of the Sattva Wisdom Center.

We have great things things coming up for the rest of 2020 and are busy planning many unique events for 2021.

We can’t wait to welcome you!

With love and light,

Denise
