Do A Few Simple Things Each Day To Reduce Stress and Build Resilience

Stress is an unavoidable part of our lives and the pandemic has done us no favors when it comes to stress levels.

One way to counteract the unwelcome effects of feeling anxious is by developing a consistent habit of doing these simple things:

Breathe: Next time you feel anxiety rising, count 10 deep slow breaths. Let that exercise build to a daily meditative practice, even if you set aside just a few minutes each day to sit quietly and count your breath.

Use affirmations: Positive daily affirmations, repeated as often as you like throughout the day, improve self-esteem and are a reminder you are in control of your life. Simple examples are:

  • I have a positive life and I am thankful.

  • I am enough, and I have enough, for a rich and fulfilled life.

  • I am self-aware, conscious and grateful for my life.

Incorporate stress-relieving poses into your yoga practice: Reduce physical and mental effects of stress and anxiety by adding these yoga poses into a daily routine:

  • Child’s pose

  • Corpse pose

  • Spine twist

  • Legs-up-the-wall pose

  • Puppy pose

  • Dolphin pose

You can also increase your time spent in Shavasana, rather than in flow.

We invite you to join us for the remaining events in our meditation series, where we will explore a different meditation/mindfulness tool in each session. These are a great way to learn about building daily routines to reduce stress and develop your resilience skills.

We look forward to welcoming you!

With love and light,

Denise
